IT Programmer - experienced
Summary:
Company is an employee owned niche business with a strong market share and significant revenue percentage from e-commerce.
Position:
Programmer is a key hire and will be responsible for routine diagnosis and resolution of performance issues for the Access Database supporting approximately 30+ users. Database will soon undergo an Access upgrade and move to a SQL server.
While supporting company’s day to day business operations from an IT perspective, this key IT associate will contribute significantly as:
1. member of the team tasked with design, selection and implementation of an integrated ERP
2. key participant on other IT projects including planned Access upgrade
Until the ERP solution is functional, this position will be responsible for assessment, design, development, testing and documentation of current Access Database enhancements justified by cost – benefit considerations.
Responsibilities:

Daily troubleshooting of Access Database supporting day to day operations

Design, plan, spec, test and implement application improvements
-
Write and update technical documentation for any program changes; document existing code as assigned

Prepare reports on analyses, findings and project progress including accurate developmental / project timelines

As part of ERP implementation, assist with creation of SQL database warehouse for legacy data. Once established, perform troubleshooting to maintain optimal performance and handle user requests for data and reporting

Research solutions and remain current on relevant technology

Assist significantly in ERP project design, implementation and testing including development of cost effective solutions to ERP package interface or functionality limitations
-
Responsible for coordination and planning to insure on-time project deliverables

Interface efficiently and effectively with external project consultants and internal customers on ERP design and implementation as well as on special projects and process improvement initiatives requiring IT support

Assist with automation of current Access reporting; develop and test new reports as users require
Experience and Skills:

BS or BA in computer science, business administration or related field

3-5 years minimum experience
- SQL Server and MySQL databases; knowledge of database performance troubleshooting and tuning; table and stored procedures creation, indexing and optimization; report writing with Report Services
- High level proficiency with Microsoft Access using VBA to create code for execution. (MS Access 97 familiarity desired.)
- Microsoft.Net Application programming creating user interfaces to SQL Server databases

Accounting Manager
Summary:
Accounting Manager will be responsible for all facets of accounting including accounts receivable, account payable, fixed asset and general ledger. The manager will supervise assigned staff and work with various department heads to plan, review and execute those steps required to insure timely, accurate preparation of financial statements, departmental financial analysis, annual budgets, cash flow planning / reporting. This position will be responsible for internal controls, safe guarding of company’s physical assets, process improvement, departmental productivity, purchasing oversight and adherence to accounting policies / guidelines. The accounting manager will also be integral in the planned computer system (ERP) upgrade design and implementation.
Job Responsibilities:

Prepare and distribute timely/accurate monthly financial statements

Oversee timely/accurate monthly close process

Prepare and/or review routine closing entries

Reconcile balance sheet accounts and prepare supporting work papers

Work with department heads to prepare and document annual budget

Interface with outside accountants and bankers

Produce timely financial analysis for distribution to executive management and department heads.

Oversee credit card processing including daily reconciliations to sales and assist with contract negotiation with payment processors

Work with purchasing manager to set monthly purchasing budget and monitor variances

Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions

Assist with cash flow planning and budgeting

Oversee department of 3 full time and 1 part time staff

Supervise 2 direct reports (accounting coordinator and purchasing manager)

Implement computerized inventory tracking and integrated PO process including system to efficiently record prepaid inventory and un-invoiced receipts; bring fixed asset tracking in-house

Provide accounting support/perspective to ERP design and implementation

Identify and implement process improvements

Identify, update and document accounting policies and procedures as needed – (expense reimbursement guidelines, requisition process, etc)

Insure adequate internal controls including inventory oversight and various month-end cut-offs
Education/Skill Requirements:

Minimum of Bachelors Degree in Accounting
-
Minimum of five years accounting operations experience, including experience supervising direct reports
-
Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Access, Word, Outlook)
-
Solid working knowledge of GAAP
-
Excellent communication skills; verbal and written
-
Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
-
Ability to work collaboratively with staff and others
-
Ability to encourage, coach and develop staff to maintain peak performance

CPA preferred

Experience with QuickBooks and/or Microsoft Dynamics a plus
Customer Service Specialist (Bilingual - English/Canadian French)
