After being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in February 2011, during the height of his racing career, Ryan Reed’s approach in his life, career, and goals in racing changed. He found himself in a unique situation and was driven to become a role model in the diabetes community.
Ryan joined forces with the American Diabetes Association. The Drive to Stop Diabetes℠ campaign includes awareness and educational efforts at select NASCAR Nationwide races, as well as at several off track health and wellness initiatives. The Drive to Stop Diabetes℠ mobile movement will focus attention to educating the community about diabetes.
A diabetes medical ID, or diabetes bracelet, is recommended for every person with diabetes in order to be able to quickly communicate medical information in an emergency. Now you can get a diabetes bracelet or diabetes necklace and support a great cause at the same time!
