Other than these comments, I really like it.

They need to say on the main page that the USB in this bracelet is completely unprotected (yes, I know now that it says it under "specs," but it needs to be more prominent). If you forget and wear it in the shower, the bath, the pool, or a bad rainstorm, it's toast. And it's hard enough to take off that having to do so any time it might possibly get wet is a major pain.

I also had problems with the casing scratching the USB when it was rotated out from inside the charm. In addition, it was difficult to insert the USB into the port with the heavy bracelet hanging off it.

They could easily make a sealed bracelet with a removable USB and that might be worth getting, but to my mind, this one is just a gimmick. If you want something that links to your medical records (and I think that's a good idea, which is why I bought this in the first place), you're better off buying a bracelet or necklace that can be linked to an IHR (which is what I ended up doing). Much easier for medical personnel to call a phone number or visit a website than it is to struggle to insert a USB into a computer port (and possibly find it damaged by water or scratching).

I do want to give American Medical ID kudos, though, for working with me on this when I got the bracelet and realized it wasn't suitable for my needs. I was very upset that I'd spent all that money for something that was really no different from my regular bracelet, and they were able to work with me to come up with an acceptable solution. So high marks there!

Nice Bracelt But BAD Latching System

Comments about American Medical ID Lynx USB Bracelet:

This is my second one (first one destroyed in house fire) and while I really like the new one I has the same problem that the other one had (and many have counted on the same problem!) it is extremely hard to put on by myself and get the clasp to work. There are so many very good bands available it is hard to understand why this one is used.

I would HESITANTLY recommend one to a friend due the difficulty of the latch. Quiet honestly if I could have found one with the USB feature from somewhere else I would have ordered it hoping for a better band.

A nice bracelet for the money. Looks good and is comfortable. The USB is easy to store info on. My only concern is that it was difficult to put on and may be hard to get off if necessary; it may have to be cut off as the clasp is not intuitive.

My only problem with it was that it didn't auto-run and load as specified in the instruction sheet. I was able to create my own medical information list and successfully install in on the bracelet. However it will only be useful if the EMS/Medical facility has an MS WORD application.
