We believe everyone who needs a medical ID should have one. For veterans dedicated to serving our country, wearing a medical ID is probably the last thing they think about. But being easily identified as having a medical condition can be very important, especially for veterans who have chronic conditions including PTSD, or suffer from injuries like embedded metal fragments.
The Department of Veterans Affairs issued a directive stating, “It is VHA policy that ID bracelets and pendants must be available, upon appropriate request by Department of Veterans Affairs clinicians through Prosthetics Service, for veteran patients whose pertinent medical information would be valuable to emergency medical care providers.”
